Just My Random Thoughts

The difference a weekend can make.

Friday we got about 4" of snow: unusual for Atlanta - more than we usually get and no ice mixed in it. Driving home Friday afternoon it was beautiful (especially the golf course I pass).

It started melting on Saturday.

Yesterday, water was POURING through the downspouts at the church building.

Today the snow is gone and the sun is shining.

A far cry from the winters of my childhood when we could go months without seeing the ground and snow would be piled 4 or 5 feet high along the road.

For the person who has everything.

Waitrose launches cashmere toilet paper

It has always been known as the throne room and now a posh supermarket has launched loo paper fit for a king - made with cashmere.

And Waitrose reckons shoppers won't give the plush bog roll the bum's rush.

Buyer Carla Smith said: "Toilet paper is a luxury families are not cutting back on."

The loo rolls contain the downy hair collected from Cashmere goats but usually associated with expensive jumpers, socks and gloves.

At £2.29 for a four pack it is 46p dearer than Tesco's four luxury soft loo rolls.

Psalm 2010

Obama is the shepherd I did not want.
He leadeth me beside the still factories.
He restoreth my faith in the Republican party.
He guideth me in the path of unemployment for his party's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the bread line,
I shall fear no hunger, for his bailouts are with me.
He has anointed my income with taxes,
My expenses runneth over.
Surely, poverty and hard living will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will live in a mortgaged home forever.
I am glad I am American,
I am glad that I am free.
But I wish I was a dog
And Obama was a tree.
