Marvelous Monday - 05/25/09

What makes today good? We had a great weekend at Coneross Park. The temperature was perfect and, although it rained off and on Saturday, we had a screen house so we stayed pretty dry. We got lots of rest and look forward to doing it again.

Prayers Requested

The husband of a coworker is recovering from a major stroke. He's a young man, maybe 40, and he has a long road ahead of him. His progress is being reported at http://walterromine.blogspot.com if anyone is interested. His wife is around 30 and this is a heavy burden for her as well. Please pray for stamina and patience for her.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Many years ago I admitted that I acted a lot like my mother.

More recently I admitted that I look a lot like my mother.

But now I've taken it too far.

I've started losing my glasses.

Yesterday I looked all over the office for them. An hour later I found them - in my shirt pocket.

At least I haven't put them in the washing machine lint trap. Yet.

The flower garden is weeded and planted.

I still have the beds along the fence and a space in front to plant, but the main flower garden is done for now.

Marvelous Monday - 05/11/09

We got some rain over the weekend. We had some thunderboomers last week. Today the sun is shining but it's not too hot (yet). I got the flowerbeds weeded on Saturday and yesterday I put some more dirt and manure in them. Tonight I can start planting seeds.

Marvelous Monday - 05/04/09

The Coehoorn clan was here last week and we had lots of fun.

Highlights:

On Tuesday Melody and I took the kids to Stone Mountain where we met up with one of the girls from Melody's Girl Scout troop and took her to lunch. After dropping her back at work we took the kids to the playground.

Thursday evening we had the Longhorn dinner attended by three of the Collins family, two of the Banker family, and eight of the Chaffin family. Since we had lots of people we indulged in Chocolate Stampede.

(Ok, so it doesn't take much for us to have Chocolate Stampede, but it works out better with a large group.)
