Marvelous Monday - 06/01/09

Schroeder has been having a rough time of it lately.

First he strained or sprained or something a muscle in his leg that had him limping. The vet put him on some medicine for a week and that seems to have given his leg the ease it needed to heal.

Then, last Monday while we were breaking camp, he stuck his snout where it didn't belong and got stung. It was close to the edge of his lip about midway between his nose and his eyes so I didn't think it would affect his breathing, but he felt miserable. He didn't even carry his blue ball around with him. Lara suggested a low dose of Benadryl and that did the job.

Schroeder is now his usual bouncy, ball-loving self, diligently protecting us from the vicious, man-eating squirrels and carnivorous cardinals that try to invade our yard. I think he has even started a new excavation project near the wood pile.

It's amazing how much personality God can pack into a little 12 pound dog.
